Reliable SDD Source ?
Hey all. I really need to dig into my x350 xjr and my SDD just quite recognizing my mongoose cable on one computer and on my other recognizes it but the SDD has an issue. Im honestly fed up trying to figure this out. I have the SDD saved on a drive but not the patch to make it work and trying a delete reload changed nothing. Are there reputable sources to get this already setup and working? My first try at that years back involved a virtual machine and it didnt work out well. Any help is much appreciated. I need to dig into an air ride issue and no other scanning tools I have will do that. Usually when I have an issue its one that everyone looks at and scratches their head. I really need to resolve this issue. Thanks so much

In your place I would try to get a VCM (not a VCM II, mind!), they can be found on the bay from time to time. Yes, they can be exepensive, but with 4 Jags of the same era I think it is worth it.
Since I got one and I run the diagnostics with V125, sometimes with V130, and have the power supply for both main battery of the car and the VCM, everything runs smoothly. I seem to remember that for the VCM only I paid around 400 EUR incl. shipment from the US.
If you look for one, it does not matter whether it has the Jaguar logo on it, or only Ford, Lincoln and Mercury. It works...
Best regards
Thomas

I have not used them but many mentions of good service on this forum and others plus they are in the UK! Actually have support which none of the other clone people do. Of course the hardware is all made in china like most everything else. Good prices I think only about $87 for the cable.
Jaguar SDD
This long thread from the UK forum has images you can download of different SDD versions. All ready to go so I think that's the easiest and lest error prone way to install SDD.

We are trying to keep ALL the SDD stuff together in one master thread on this forum. So much duplication already and I know these are big threads and no one wants to read 20 pages of stuff. But it all depends how deep you want to get into SDD?
SDD Naked Truth
What I do is a cheap dedicated laptop for SDD ONLY. I make sure to turn ALL power saving options OFF. Between the power source on the battery and your SDD you can't afford any power glitches or voltage sags! My Mangoose clone cable is still working fine after 3-4 years or so. Others have failed so there is risk. That's why I listed the British Diagnostics place. If you just want to get SDD up and going then they have a complete solution. You supply the laptop. The big plus is support AND a one year warranty on the cable.
Good luck on the air ride as I have had MANY hours of fun troubleshooting, repairing and finally replacing the entire system. I still get nightmares when someone mentions "plausibility errors"!
