The only slightly annoying part was to line up the seat belt slider plate with the B-pillar trim slider plate. Only now I am noticing the note in the manual that suggests to put them both to their lowest point to line them up...

I have replaced mine three days ago, and it was indeed reasonably easy.

Interesting, thanks for the tip. So no issues taking any of that apart? Seems reasonably easy in the manual, just curious if you ran across anything that gave trouble.
I just had my headliner done at a local shop and they recovered the a-pillars, but did not re-cover the b-pillars. After seeing the car they look pretty bad when compared to the new headliner, so I may take them out myself and bring them over to the shop for recovering.

Actually thinking of it, you also need to take off the inner door seals (partially, as indicated in the manual), and for that you need to take off the plastic panel on a door sill... And given I never did that before I was afraid something would break - but it was fine...
Here's a video I followed for that particular operation:
I wish that guy never sold his XJ8, his video-guides are 10/10

Actually, I think you can easily take the seals off partially without touching the plastic thing. I suppose I complicated things for myself. 😁
At least I practiced for the other side where I was actually replacing the seal itself. (For the same reason the guy in the video messed with his.)
