Repoduction X358 Grill

I had a chance to have a close took at an XJR x358 grill today
Considering the price and availability of these I wanted to gauge interest in producing a reproduction
From both the parts list in the JEPC and looking at one in the flesh today
There are 4 main parts (excluding the mesh and badge)
1. The outer frame (the visible external section) part number C2C36778XXX
2. The LH and RH inner shell, called the "Grille moulding" part numbers C2C36785 and C2C36784
3. The LH and RH Air Ducts, part numbers C2C36787 and C2C36786
4. Stiffener, part number C2C36779
The parts for both type are here

I have the equipment to 3d scan the parts and 3d print a reproduction. Not to say that this is a viable production part but it would allow molds to be made.
To make it viable i would need to get get molds made and a production run done
The larger the run the lower the cost
I am happy to purchase the originals, do the work and get them made. I would also be happy if others that had to hand off the mold making and production to others if they are in that business
I'm not looking to make a profit from this at all, just seeing if we can make it viable at this point
So my question to all is two fold, what is a reasonable price it needs to get down to and can we get enough people at the price.
Cheers

Truly, the prces for converting from an x350 grille to the x358 style is staggering. I would not have paid over $1500 for parts alone, not ilncluding the painting cost to do mine this last winter. I was fortunate to find only one complete assembly available from a salvage yard, and after painting, i had still spent $500 for the 'modification'. Used parts are practically non-existent.
As for your project to fabricate molds and produce individual pieces, it may be too expensive for most. I anticipate a small interest, however. Good luck

After some bloke smacked my front end in a parking lot, Ford replaced mine and the bumper with insurance. It took them over a month to get all the parts and about $7200 later, Luckily my old grill is not THAT damaged, only a few scuffs, it will be hanging on my wall since I never gave it to them in the first place. But given the cost and time it took Ford to find one, i'm sure a repro would be a great idea.

As a side note
I found a guy in the UK that is doing this for the X. He want to do one for the XJ x350 as well
He is selling the X version for £160.00 as a complete unit including mesh
Jaguar X Type New Shape 2001 - 2009 Replica Grill. Direct Fit, Just four bolts. | eBay
So this seems the best route to go
Is there a member that is close to Stockport UK that is willing for him to take measurements from there car?
Cheers

I have a 2005 XJR that I replaced the front and rear bumper covers with 08/09 covers. The car was near a fire that melted the headlight, cover and grill. I purchased a used 04-07 grill surround that I modified to look like the 08/09 grill. The inserts will be made from expanded aluminum mesh. It wont look factory but is a lot less expensive.

Adam78, he is in the UK. Thanks anyway but I think we have a chance from the UK board
See here

In chatting he is also doing a Xtype facelift bumpers (as an upgrade) in carbon
He is keen to do a bolt in x358 bumper set for the x350 after that as well
That would give you the x358 front end without all the mass mods or the vents that I personally don’t like anyway
Cheers

Mina made an "upgrade" grill for the X350 as well;

Jaguar XJ8 XJR Mesh Grille 08-style Custom
Personally I don't like it. And TBH I'm not a big fan of the X358 grill either.
Which is a little odd, since the first mod I did to my X-Type was fit a genuine 2008MY grill. The OEM grill looks very different to the X-Type one that bloke is selling in the UK. The chrome mesh is recessed, and there is that chrome shoulder around the inside of the frame. Some pics of my old X-Type here;

You see the X358 grill has the recessed mesh and that extra rim of chrome on the inside, same as the X-Type facelift grill. This was the "family look" that Jag was going for, because it's the same style as what was put on the XF.
What spoils the X358 grill for me is the badge location. Again Jag was going for the family look, so it's the same badge as the XF, XK & facelift X-Type.
If someone with some photoshop skills could lose the split in the middle of the X358 grill, and put the badge in the same place as the X-Type, I wonder how that would look?
