Default "On The Road Again"

I have just completed the first day of our semi-annual trip from Toronto, Ontario to Canmore, Alberta.

Left Toronto at 4-45 am and arrived in Menomonie, Wisconsin at 6-15 pm.(Both EST)

Approximately 1550km at an average running speed of 113km/hr with a fuel consumption of 8.2 L/100 kms. (In English--just over 800 miles,74 mph and about 33mpg(imperial ) or 26.5mpg US.)
This included driving I-94 through the centre of Chicago at mid-day.

I am just in awe of this 2004 Jaguar Vanden Plas. It has about 110 k miles on it now. What a fantastic touring car and much more comfortable than my 2004 S-Type.

So I have a total of about another 5000km to go before we get home.

Hopefully the car continues to perform as well.

We completed this trip last Monday evening. The total distance covered was 4600 miles, at an average running speed of 73mph, with an average fuel consumption of 34 mpg---all as measured by the car's trip computer.

The suspension system threw a fault warning as I restarted from the first gas fill on the first day of the return trip. The suspension went into the hard mode and I decided to continue. On arriving at our first overnight stop in Jamestown ND .,I put my trusty Mongoose to work and found the fault code was C2303 "Reservoir Plausibility Error"

After a quick look around I decide the delete the DTC and it has remained OK since. The only observation I can make is that we went through large ambient temperature change ---50F--after leaving Canmore AB and the gas station in Medicine Hat.

I stopped in South Bend IN on Monday morning and had a set new Continental Conti ProContact tires installed and replacing the worn set of 6 year old Michelins.
My only comment so far is that the somewhat harsh ride home from South Bend was explained the next day when I checked the tire pressures---I asked for 30 psig all around and what I found was 35/35/35/37 psig. I set them to 28 front /30 back and now ride really nicely. I should also point out that I checked the wheel nut torques and they were 90ft-lbs as I requested.
