Well, 5 months passed. I have my car back in perfect shape.
It did not take me too long to get collision parts, that are in very good shape. I lucked out with the hood: there was one in good condition 4hrs drive from me in NJ. many sellers on e-bay do not want to ship it, others charging freght shipping, I just went in picked mine up.
Insurance just took my reciepts and reimbursed me.
Shop charged me few bucks extra for removing dent from hood. it was my fault from a tie down and sending out all the scratches from hood and fender. I still waiting on supplimental check from inshurance.
WHat turned out a challange is to find a RPUETABLE shop that would take the job.
I have a very nice body shop to whom I brought up cars before, they guys would not skip on work nor parts: if part listed on BOM or procedure mentioend in shop manuals he will do it, period! This shop declined: for the same reason: he was concearned that it will take a lot to learn about how to work on jags.
Two other high end/proce body shops were all talk...
When I found one I went with, it was 2 months in by that time and first opening they had was in 3 months!
Any way, those were winter months, soI do not use jag in winter when there is salt and sand on roads. and studded tires to interfere with overall driving experience!
Any way here it is back from haitus:
