Default Sat Nav Disc Replacement.

Hi,

I have a 2007 XJ X350 2.7 TDvi that has I believe a 2006 sat nav disc in the reader in the boot.

Has anyone replaced a disc with a more up to date one and is it as simple as eject the 2006 disc and put in a 2012 etc. disc or is it a more in depth??
Are the disc's from other Jag models compatible as well...?

I have seen several discs for Jaguar, be they X type / XF / S Type or XJ on e-bay for several car models and map years but I don't want to buy one that does not work or for some odd reason corrupts data already on the head unit in the car??

Any advice would be appreciated??

I have a 2012 disc in my X350, I believe this was the last year they made a disc for this model car.
I wish I could remember where it was from, it was a website recommended to me at the JEC Seminar a few years ago.

At the time it was just a case of ejecting one disc and putting the new one in, I think I just had to wait a while for it to load the new disc but all has been fine. I did actually first use the disc in my earlier X350 and when I traded the car for the Super V8 I kept the newer disc ready for the newer car and put the earlier disc back in the car I was part-exchanging.

Thanks... great info.
Was the disc you bought an XJ specific disc or was it just a 'Jaguar' disc as a lot of the ones I have seen are advertised as for 'XF / XKR' but that may of course just be a generic e-bay listing that has been used??

Thanks again....

I would love for somebody at Jaguar to explain why they fail to support satnavs on their cars that were made up to 2009, a mere eight years ago. After all they support supply of other spares.

So for me, it is 0/10 for Jaguar here. OK not much changes here in England, but the Germans are doing lots of road alterations and I got lost as these were not reflected in my satnav last year.

I rarely use my Jag nav, it's cumbersome to use and is outdated and has a fraction of the features new apps like Waze has. Waze has live traffic updates, police alerts, road hazard alerts and speedo and is so much faster and easier to use.
