Default Sell Sepangs?

Hello Jaguarforums,
I recently purchased a 2004 xjr with sepang wheels. Apparently the sepang wheels are pretty rare (at least in the US). Should I sell them and buy a different set of wheels? I like the way they look, but if I could get a lot of money for selling them AND get a set of rims of my choice, is that a good idea?
Thanks,
Alec

The rims I'm considering:

Are these wheels sold as suitable for the X350/358 cars ? Sepang wheels do seem to fetch good money in the UK, at least.

Personally I hate all these large wheels with low profile tyres which are the fashion now; they have taken away all comfort from the cars to which they're fitted. I recently downsized from 19" to 17" and am now much happier with the ride. Of course if you're doing track days a lot, you need the low profile tyres.

Have you thought of looking on eBay for some genuine Jaguar wheels ? I've seen a set of four Polaris 19" here in the UK, brand new for about £900

Nice wheels, the TSW Sebring does fit the XJR:

I actually like the ride on the 20 inch wheels. I like feeling the bumps in the road and I don't live in a place with a lot of potholes or anything.
The TSW wheels are guaranteed to fit the x350. I know the picture jello posted is an x308 but I guess they dont have an x350 picture on the wheel visualizer. Jello thanks for posting that pic, they look fantastic...

Haven't been able to find a visualizer that loads an x350 instead of x308, even if I enter a later model year. If you squint, the x308 looks almost like the x350, so close enough I guess. I'd bet the Sebring would look fabulous in real life. I'm starting to like TSW Turbina, but it must be a chore to clean all the nooks and crannies in these fancy wheels.

Those look almost exactly like the sepangs. I put them on the visualizer and they look really nice.

The first proposed wheel just doesn't suit the car at all, in fact, to me, they look really awful, but the second, one, the Turbina is very similar to a Sepang, and would look good, and, of course, do the same job !

My opinion of course !

Turbina does look very close to Sepang. Looks like the Turbina has a slight concave while Sepangs are more flat-faced. I'd choose Sepangs myself to keep things OEM, if only sourcing a mint set of Sepangs wasn't so difficult. Buying a set of Turbinas would be too easy (not that that's a problem).

squanchy, what condition are your Sepangs in, and what are you asking for them should you decide to sell?

I personally love the Sepangs. I was able to score a set of them for cheap and I am waiting for the need to have to fit new tires at which point the Sepangs will go on my XJR

The sepangs are in pretty good condition save for a couple spots of curb rash from the previous owner. 90% of the curb rash is on the chrome rings that are removable and replaceable (or fixable, some guy on the sub polished them out). If you go to my profile you can see a picture of my car with the sepangs on them.

Jello would you mind PMing me so I can get a shipping quote?

Edit: heres a pic:

Personally , I think that the Sepangs really make the car. I spent a long time searching for my car because I wanted certain colors and options. Sepangs were the number one thing I was looking for. I don't think you can put better looking wheels on the car. The silver car above looks awesome!

Just my opinion though. To each their own.

Default sell sepang

Sell Sepangs?-img_0109-4-.jpg I agree don't sell the Sepangs. This is one of the reasons I purchased my xjr. I remember seeing these wheels when they first came out and thought they made the car. These wheels will become scarce. I have the same color combo Silver with Black interior.

Also agree.
If you sell them, you will regret it.
They are also a real plus if you want to sell the car in the future

Thanks for your concern everyone. I think I will end up keeping them, at least for now, although I really like those TSW wheels. I'll just have to be careful not to damage the Sepangs. Keeping the look OEM is nice, also it's nice to be part of the sepang club.
