Side repeater removal

Ok, I've done several searches, but can't figure out how to remove the side repeaters on the front fender. The JTIS has everything else in the exterior lighting section for R&R, except them. On my xk8, you push it towards the front, then pry out the back end, but starting that on this XJ8 resulted in a little cracking noise...so I stopped. I know there is a trick, hoping someone can send it my way.

Hi
New to this forum , so sorry if this is in the wrong place.
But I am trying to remove the puddle lenses/bulbs on the auto fold door miirrors and replace with LED equivalents.
I cannot see how they remove, so people say push the mirror housing forwards then the lense drops out....well this does not happen with my mirrors.
2004 XJR
Any tips or advice most welcome
Cheers
Jim

Here are pics of me taking one off. In theory, the bulb cannot be replaced because the transparent bulb cover is glued on, but this can be removed with a bit of patience and care. Mine was loose, so I removed everything then cleaned it all up and reglued. Make sure you clean all the other crud off at the same time. This crud is corrosion from the Mazak castings in the mirror.
