Sirius in a XJ8 Vanden Plas

First time here....
I convinced my Dad to buy a XJ8 Vanden Plas in 2004 which he loves. He also loves the Sirius I have installed in my car which is integrated into the audio system. Is there anyway to do the same in his car? He has the NAV system but not voice recognition. I want to avoid the add on tuner bolted to the dash someplace since he and my Mom are both 84 and more complexity in the car would just add unnecessary stress.
Thanks.
Dan

I installed an XM receiver in my '04 XJ sedan. It was a bit ofa pain running the antenna wirefrom the trunk area to the front dash area (my pick-up is mounted on the rear window, center location, just above the trunk lid). My small receiver (Best Buys-$40 !!) sits nicely in the ash tray cubicle (remove the actual ashtray), and I can close the "door" to fully conceal the unit.
The DC outlet in the glove box suffices nicely as the power source for the receiver.
If your folks usually drive just in their metro area, then they could set the receiver once and pretty much forget about it. Let me know if you would like more info.

The audio unit with built in Sirius is only for 2007 XK on. The 2008 XJ I believe has different software in the audio unit and a sirius unit in trunk on left side. Not sure about compatibilty or retrofitting to older XJ (2004-2007)
There is a sirius install kit availble. Looks very clean but you lose ashtray. Sirius unit sits in there. The wood door still closes so you can hide the sirius display. This would be the cheapest route and is made for the car versus a different add on one.

Could you post a pix of the small sirius receiver you installed in the ash tray area? I have sirious receiver installed but it slides into a docking base which is attached to the wood dash by a suction cup bracket. Obviously not the most appealing look. My antenna sits on the dash to the left and close to the windshield on the inside of the car and works just fine.

See this post for pictures and writeup of how to install Sirius/XM into an XJ
Although it looks difficult, especially removing the big centre console (Jaguar makes it it a lengthy task so that they can charge more mechanic's time), it really is a simple step by step process.
