Software upgrade ZF 6HP26 transmission

There have been dozens of software updates for the transmission in the X350 since the model was first released.
If you get your transmission reflashed with a recent version IDS/SDD (V130 onwards) you will get the most up to date revision. Reflashing with old equipment such as a WDS will not be the latest version.

files are part of the SDD software.
you identify your car and the SDD will choose the correct file.
I you're an geek/enthusiast the SDD is a very cool toy, but there is a slight risk, that you mess something up, when playing around.
flashing the tcm took 30min, so keep your battery supported by a charger.
after flashing the tcm, you have to clear tcm-settings and you must drive the "adaptation cycle".
If you want to have it done by experienced people quickly, you probably choose a jag dealer.
If you like to dig into your machine, the SDD is the way to go.

Not entirely correct, they do charge for labour, about 30 minutes. There is no software charge. I know this because I have had an upgrade, although it wasn't totally successful in curing the "hunting" syndrome. Nowadays I just ignore it or put the transmission into 4 for a bit until the fluid has warmed through.

Your dealer forgot to mention, that the sw-upgrade changes the temperature where the mechanism of hunting is beeing engaged from 30° to 40°.
This means, that the time you experience hunting becomes shorter.
To completely get rid of hunting, you need to update tcm, ecu and replace the torque converter. I did the tcm and ecu without torque converter and it's less present than before.
( Hunting is largely dependend on the speed you drive while the gearbox warms from 40° to 55° ..)

Hi, I have tried to reflash the TCU and aborted it (yes I know it was silly) after 48 minutes.
So now it's in limp home mode. It states to me, adaptions have been erased.
When I try to configure it, it says, no calibration file for this model.
Tomorrow I have an appointment with my Jag dealer and they try to program it.
Does anybody have experience with this behaviour or had a similar fault?

Update:
My Jaguar dealer could not communicate with the TCU. I have decided to buy a used tranny and pulled out the TCU.
Because of my last experience with erasing adaptions, I did not erase the adaptions of the TCU.
After the exchange the gearbox shifted very hard but went better and better. So at the moment 3-4-5 are very well, 5-6 is a bid stroner, 1-2 is still hard, 2-3 get's better each shift.
So it was a success.
The TCC is still ab bid fluctuating. I will keep an eye on it.

Surprising as you probably have a P0610 fault stored in the PCM.
I dont think you can plug and play a TCM. It has to be programmed to the vehicle/PCM. Did the dealer do that? If so the adaptions would've been wiped out anyways.

Thanks for the documentation, so the old TCM is not lost.
acutally the transmission is learning now and the shifts (with new sealed valve body gets smoother and smoother) are already quite good. Only 1-2 needs more time.
the Wük (clutch) is not good and surging similar as before, so I have to change the torque converter. I will use the other one from the other transmission.

Most likely correct if you used legit software and hardware. The fact that the dealership (that has legit equipment) could not communicate with the TCM is a concern.
Do not attempt to communicate with the new TCM unless you have the proper equipment so you dont have a repeat of what happened to the original TCM.
Good idea on swapping out the TQ from the donor trans.
