Default solved CEL problem, hopefully

My newest project: 2004 XJ has issues, one suspension related, then the check engine & restricted performance. Took off the engine vanity cover, sprayed AFM cleaner but po171 returned, no fix in sight. Then, cover still off I find a loose hose clamp, this one adjacent to throttle body. Tightened both bellows clamps with an 8mm socket, progressively tightening them. No tags right now, but I think we are a going concern. Just brought her home 5/01/2017, had a Jag XJ 15 years ago, a lousy grey market car that I could not handle. This car is so much better, a fixer upper keeper that will get love in spades.

CHECK THOSE CLAMPS EARLY AND OFTEN!!!

Default

You might also check all the TSBs that I and others have uploaded to this site and that Gus has on his site.

Jaguar already found this out 12 years ago as per XJ303-08!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
