Hi All,
I have an odd problem with one of my air shocks and wondered if anyone could help?
One (or both) of the cables - leading to the top of one of the front air shocks got "jiggled" by someone who didn't know what they were doing.
Since then, the car has become "lopsided" at the front, the shock in question seems to ride about a half inch higher than the other, the suspension also feels firmer at that corner.
My own theory is that when he "jiggled" the cable that sends the data to ASM, the ASM recieved some erroneous values and somehow, that has caused a corruption.
I just wondered if anyone has had a similar problem and maybe has a solution?
As far as I can tell, the level sensors are fine - I really hope I'm not going to have to replace the ASM.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's a late 2003 XJR.
Thank you

The electrical connections to the top of the struts have nothing to do with ride height. Those change the shock valving between softer and firmer according to commands from the CATS system. it may well be that the shock has gone into firm mode and will not reset, but you need a scanner that can read codes and data to determine that. The 2003 did have a height sensor at both fronts wheels, rather than the single sensor in later cars, so there may be an issue with one of those. Again, need a reader.

Thank you both for that, the shock being stuck in firm mode seems most likely what the problem is.
I don't have a scanner capable of reading the suspension codes, fortunately my jag specialist does.
The idiot that "jiggled" the cable also did the same with my brake pipes, where they meet the ABS unit.
I'm hoping no damage was caused in that area.
