Spark Plugs & Manifold

Spark Plugs & Manifold
I am preparing to replace the spark plugs on my 2003 X350 3.0L V6, and have read a few of the posts on here in advance, so that I have all the replacement parts on hand before I begin.
I understand the need to replace the upper intake manifold seals/gaskets, but I saw a post on here by the member "Brutus" correctly noting that the intake manifold assembly also includes the lower seals.
My question is, are these lower seals actually disturbed by the removal of the upper alloy manifold. It appears to me that the lower part of the manifold is held on by some additional bolts than those securing the alloy manifold. Am I correct, in this belief or does removing it mean that the lower part is also loosened and therefore new seals are required.
Many thanks
Terry
