Default Squeaks and Sounds Driving Me Crazy

Over the last 5 or 6 months my car has developed awful noises. 1. Anytime I drive over a bump in the road, even slowly, there is a lot of squeaking as the car bounces. 2. Even though my dealership has told me my brakes are fine, the squeaking is driving me mad. My brakes squeak horribly all the time! 3. Anytime I drive over bumps in the road there is also a weird sound, kind of like a chain. The dealership can't seem to hear that either. Any thoughts?

I had what might be the same problem as this when I bought my car.

At first there was no sound but over time an incredibly loud rattle developed over every bump in the road.

I eventually tracked it down to the brakes as the noise didn't happen if I kept my foot lightly on the brake pedal. It turned out that the brake pad anti-rattle springs hadn't been fitted when the pads had been changed. I made the selling dealer supply a new set of pads then fitted the springs myself.

My friend had the squeaking sound on his x350.and it's really annoying.

It probably emanates from the wishbone bushe(s).

I would try finding which one is causing the sound and try and inject

some wd 40 into the offending bush

Silicone spray would probably work better

The best way to lube rubber busjes is Ruglyde rubber lubricant. Get it at NAPA. WD 40 is not a real lubricant, it is a water dispersant (WD40). It would help for a few hours and then be gone.

This sounds crazy, but often works: Take your car to a safe area and perform very hard, agressive braking (short stops) repeadedly. This often clears the glaze off of the rotors and pads and ends the brake squeal.
