Sun Roof
Hey there! I've got a pristine 2003 XJ8, Sovereign, I had the headliner replaced and the shop neglected to do the Sun Roof and the holder for Sun Glasses. The rest of the work is great and we're discussion them doing the neglected items. However, i was thinking.... Did anyone ever make a glass replacement for this steel Sun Roof? Maybe one with a sliding panel to cover it up? That would be cooler than what i have now....

I'm sorry, but I am still confused.
You stated that "...Did anyone ever make a glass replacement for this steel Sun Roof?" and you state that your car is a X350.
But:
Jaguar has never fitted steel sun roofs to the X350, all X350 fitted with sun roofs have glass ones...
Could you please clarify?

In the 'States, the 2003 MY cars were of the previous generation--the x308. X350s were introduced in the US for the 2004 model year, and there's pretty much nothing that interchanges between the two (the 308 has a relatively flat roof, while the '350s roof panel is much more curved. I'm not sure offhand whether a glass roof panel was available on US '308s (I've only ever seen metal sunroof panels during junkyard shopping trips, but I understand glass was an option). In any case, used is the way you'll have to go. I'd check www.car-part.com to see what's in a junkyard near you (there appears to be a number of X308s in yards in metro Detroit) or hit your favorite self-serve yard to see if there are any glass roof panels to be had.

Thanks for clarifying!
The confusion arises from the fact that 2003 was a transition year from X308 to X350, so a 03 XJ8 could be either, depending on whether you state the year it was built or the model year (and that varies from region to region, unfortunately)...
I had the same misunderstanding issue in the forum when I subscribed, I have a X350 built in September 2003.
Coming back to your question, I agree with Paul. I have checked the Jaguar parts catalogue and it seems that Jaguar never offered the option of a glass sun roof for the X308,only metal.
Best regards,
Thomas

Since the confused OP still can't bring himself to identify a 2003 XJ from a 2003 XJ...even on the other forum...
An X308 has a flat roof, like a Lada or Trabant or perhaps a Leyland bus.
An X350 has exquisite curvaceous lines befitting of a luxury car and sufficient to make the heart sing.
How'm I doing?
OK then... it may be a Sunroof or a Moonroof according to the other forum, though I cannot find any reference to this in the works of Galileo.
If you would just buy an X351, you could be done and have both albeit squeaky AND rusty....(read the X351 forum)
To be serious, I've read of a lot of people lamenting sunroofs (here in this forum), even in the US which this forum is mostly.
