what does the term SUPER 8 mean as compared to ...?

 

One thing I can think of with the moniker Super 8 was 8mm Film that movie projectors and cameras used in the 50's and 60's. That was before the camcorders and vhs tapes etc. Another is the "Super 8" Motel chain here in the USA. Not sure where the name came from, for that one. I forgot one I'm not 100% sure but I believe it was a 1940ish Oldsmobile that had a "straight 8 cylinder engine, and I think it was called a Super 8. Man I wish my Dad was still living as he'd know for sure.

 

Super V8 refers to the vehicle which is a Vanden Plas with a Supercharged Engine. It is similar to the XJR but is 2 feet longer, has rear entertainment.
