Default Sway bar bushings 05' XJ

I know my sway bar bushings are bad as well as other suspension components, does anyone have experience replacing these. It looks like they sit on the top side of the subframe. thanks

According to JTIS it's a rather involved procedure. Seems you have to remove a number of suspension components to access the sway bar. Too bad. It's such a easy job on most of the older cars.

bummer. thats what I thought. Looks like the whole subframe would have to come down. I might be able to get away with supporting the engine and lowering the subframe while it is still attached to the suspension. Not too difficult, just tedious. thanks for the info. How would one obtain JTIS?? I take it you work for a dealer??

You can get a copy of JTIS thru this forum. Do a search to find out how to do it. I ordered the mail order disk 18 mo ago but I've forgotten the details. You may be able to down load it too. There may be a stickie on it.

Nope, I don't work for a dealer. Just an insteresed/XJR owner/amateur wonderful sort of guy. LOL

I successfully downloaded the version of JTIS on the forum but it only goes up to 2003. I take it your version goes past that? Where did you get your CD from? All I see is 1995-2003 versions available. Thought maybe Jag went to online repair manuals like every other manufacture.

My disk is issue 21. It covers the 04 XJ series which will pretty much work for your car. It is my understanding that there are no advances on that as Jag went to a different system/policy. I could be wrong about this so maybe some of our members can chime in.

Try an E Bay search. I'm pretty sure that's how I got mine.

PS: Google Jaguar JTIS for sale. You will get about 20 pages. They are out there in plentifull supply. Just remember you must have # 21 at a min.
