Thank you & goodbye
To conclude my ownership, here is my summary.
Purchased May 2015 - 89,000miles, sold April 2020 - 124,000. The car did not depreciate, excluding the cost of work done.
It has been a very reliable car, never once broke down or failed to start. I have driven it to: England, Scotland, Wales, France, Germany, Monaco, Italy, Luxemborg, Belgium and Netherlands.
Here is the last photo of the car after I said goodbye, to begin its new life in Folkestone:
The car was finished as far as I could do, without doing work like resprays, ect.
I wish all the best to Dave, the new owner.
I am pleased to finish nearly 7, total years of X350 ownership on a high note.

I have driven several Jaguars a total of more than 250K miles all over Continental Europe in the past thirty years and only had two breakdowns. A burst coolant bypass hose on an XJ40 in France on Christmas Day 1997 and a failed injector on my current XK in September 2018 after a rapid trip across France and the Pyrenees.
I hope whatever you have as a replacement is as reliable as the X350.

Good luck with your next ride. I'm sure the next car will not match the smile these cars put on our faces when we drive them. I have had to part with my pride and joy a little while ago so I feel your pain. A very sad moment but needed to be done as it was getting too much to keep going. Mine did often have issues but I was able to keep costs down by doing most of the work myself. I will most definitely buy another one when I next get the chance. I just love these V8s.

Friend of mine bought a 99 Mercedes CLK 320, black on black, rag top.
Beautiful car, black on someone else's car is the only way i like it.
My first car was a black, white top, red interior, 57 Chevy.
Damn car was beautiful, but it showed every speck of dirt.
It only looked good right after washing, drying, waxing & polishing

You guys have a bonus with your climate, no snow or cold weather to speak of..
As far as your cars having long lives, heat there is serious, from what i have read.
With the heat, & left out in the sun, that bakes paint, as well as seats and such.
But not much rust, a lot like our deserts out west, baked out, but the car itself is solid.

Hi Alec,
with a Bimmer V10 and a beautiful X358 SC in your stable you're am man of well and taste i suppose, couldn't go much better in my opinion, certainly not with a mercedes. Except with an E500 W124 perhaps....;-)
I'm in Folkestone mostly twice a year, maybe i'll see your gone beauty live one of these days.
regards, Fritz

Back in the 70's, my father bought the first Jag which sparked my interest. We looked at a Mercedes before the Mk10, and the Merc was just austere by comparison. Perhaps not now.
Just my card to say "Get Well Soon", I'm sure you'll be back. LOL. Thanks for posting.
Is there a reason your X358 is parked in a Disabled Car Park? Just joking, Tee Hee. It (still) looks awesome.

Very sad to see you go. Doesn’t your car still hold the distinction of being the fastest known X350 without a twin screw/nitrous/LSD?

Yes, I believe it still officially holds that title for the 1/4...
BTW, the car was parked in the disabled bay, becuase the new owner is registered disabled.
I have new bought a 8 year old Mercedes CL, with the 4.7 biturbo. So far loving it!
Goes well with my M6
Hopefully someday I might return to Jaguar ownership, but for now all the best!

It is a CL, not a C Class, very similar name, but oposite ends of the spectrum. The sticker price when new was £105,000...
The CL uses ABC hydraulic suspension.
Driving the Mercedes daily for over a week, I can conclude the interior quality, toys, switchgear, ect is a huge step up from the X350. There are too many options to pick a favourite feature! A real GT cruiser.
However, the my old Super V8 still shines in 2 main areas, the handling is better and the super responsive Supercharged V8 (there is slight turbo lag on the Mercedes).
