Ok so the Red circle in the photo is a push fit retaining clip that the brake booster pipe goes into the other side of the red clip piece is the O ring. The red piece is a lot larger than the X type black clip in the kit previously mentioned. The o ring has the leak but you break the red clip when getting to it and so render the elbow useless. This is the only picture I can find of a part that looks the same and you cannot take photo's as the elbow is under the throttle body at the back of the engine the only way to see the part is with an inspection camera. To get the part out is about 6 hrs of work which I am not qualified to do so the fix that I come up with had better work because its about 4 hrs to get it all back together. I cannot believe I am the only person having problems with faults on my car, my dealer replaced one of these just last week when an owner tried to fix a leak at an Indy garage. I started a thread on the XKR forum as the same engine is in the cars up to 2006 and some people don't look over here in the XJR site. So the end of the day is that if this clip is not available which it looks like it is not its either silicone seal it in as my tech says is the only option or a new elbow at the $2500 price fitted! After the ACC unit repair last month this really is taking me over the edge what next.

Silicone form a gasket could work to replace or seal a leaky o ring. It comes in all temperature ranges and for $5 a tube it may work miracles. It will remain flexible. epoxy will get vary hard and is much stronger than silicone

If you must get a new induction elbow, the $2000 is a bit inflated, unless $1300 is labor I took the time to look at the JEPC and then put in the part number into Gaudin's online website. I'd still work on that o-ring insert before giving up that kind of money. A rental car for a few days while you can take off the induction elbow yourself would still be money saved...if you're up for taking it off DIY-style.

This may be a long shot, but I found a previous generation induction elbow - AJ811917 available at Jaguar of Novi (michigan) for $382.40. If you place your order via the website, they may be inclined to follow through on it.

Ok so scrap all I have said about the clip being Red! After visiting my dealer again one of the younger Tech's has said the clip on your XJR is Black! So should be the XType kit that has been indicated as fitting in previous post's. so watch this space that are trying it today.

There are 3 differant sizes, the xtype wont work. You can silicone it to seal it and this can then be removed later. Do not epoxy it or youll reall ypiss off who works on it and youll be buying more parts later. You can weld a aluminum an fitting on as antoher member here did and hose it up to the brake booster line(thats the pipe)
i have several kits if i can find what i did with them. Theyre not avail from jaguar, sourced outside and was a royal pia to put them together. You dont remove the brass piece, you leave it in, and with some custom tools you can change the oring and sleeve without removing the elbow. You have to remove the tb and map sensor but it doable. Small hands help too
The orings get cooked because of not only time but that wonderfull hot EGR port right next to it pumping out hot exhaust gas into the intake. other sources of leaks that people overlook is the oring on the oil dipstick. dont think these really matter? Just take off the oil fill cap on the cam cover with it idling and see how it runs

Thanks Brutal, I will call the shop AM and stop them trying the X Type Fix and get them to Silicone seal the pipe, if you can find a kit that would be amazing just let me know how much and I will get the money to you. Can't believe what a royal pain this is just for an O ring and a plastic retainer.

Ok so get car back today, went with silicone in the end, still $320 for a bead of Silicone! What a pain in the ***. As usual this car blows my mind with what goes wrong and how hard it is to fix.

Probably 3 hrs labor, and one intercooler came off to get to it, right? At least it wasnt $2k, keep reminding yourself of that.

You have done the right thing, you have refused to line the dealer's pockets, tackled the problem and succeeded.

You have also learned a bit more!
