Hi, I test drove my first XJR yesterday to purchase - 2004. All seems great, genuine, main dealer only stamps. However, I was a little suprised by the feel of the throttle - it 'felt' like it was N/A to point, then the throttle gets much stiffer, and from then, you can hear the S/C and it takes off. I was kind of expecting the S/C to be apparant at all revs, not like a turbo. Is this normal?

The proper procedure after battery disconnect is covered in the JTIS under the section of PDI.
After reconnect, turn key to ignition II (run) and slowly depress the accelerator pedal to WOT and hold for 5 seconds. Slowly release pedal until foot is off, wait 5 seconds. Repeat 3 times. Turn key off and remove. Start vehicle and continue remaining steps of radio code, windows...etc. Afterwards drive vehicle in low speed start and stops until it goes into closed loop.
