Too good to be true?
As I noted in previous post, I am looking to purchase my first Jaguar and am searching for a 2005/2006 low mileage, clean XJ8 with the heated seat package. Searching across local (VA, MD) dealers and the internet, prices seem to be all over the place. A VA dealer has assured me that he can find me a 2005 off-lease XJ8 that I'll be happy with for about $20K, which seems about right to me. In the meantime I found the following on craigslist, which seems like a really good deal.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

RE: Too good to be true?
About halfway down through the photos, in the right column, there is a picture of what appears to be a round glass lamp. What is that? At first blush, I thought it was a headlamp with the normal road rash that is apparent after many miles of service. The background of the photo doesn't give me enough context to locate this item on the car, and Iam not intimately familiar with a model this new. So what is that?

RE: Too good to be true?
Sad but true, for sure.
A couple of years ago, a buyer brought in a low milage XJ8 for a pre-purchase inspection. The car looks nice, reselling dealer claims clean history, yada...
With the car going up in the air, I see that the right front fender badge is facing the wrong way. I walk around and see that the left front fender badge is facing the wrong way. The only way that happens is when a body shop has trim off a car to repaint both of the front fenders, and interposes the badges on reinstallation. What's the history behind that?
That's why I was curious about the pitted lense in the picture. Might be nothing at all.

RE: Too good to be true?
Hello all, Just purchased a 2006 XJ8 VDP 28K miles with rear entertainment for 25K from Elyria Motors....Same place as your ad. Great experience right up until they got paid. Then all changed. Still dealing with some minor issues. Vehicle was Almost as advertised.

RE: Too good to be true?
Saw the comment about all XJ s having terrible resale value and was wondering why. Secretly I am thankfull as it makes an awesome car affordable as a daily driver. One of my car friends stated that the XJ8 is an old mans car. If that is so then I am going shopping for a pair of slippers and a pipe!
(Might start yelling at the kids in my neighborhood as well).

too good?
no.
there are some amazing deals out there. i bet you could get them down a bit too. for real. the market is shrinking every week. we are only halfway down- seriously. these cars at 20k now will be at 17.5 by June. You'll see . . .
So, this is a real deal and sounds like a great one- Take it. Get an extended warranty too if you can.
good luck
