Default Torque Converter Died - extra jobs?

Hi all. My torque converter died, and it's costing me a pretty penny to get it replaced.

My question is this - are there any "while the transmission is out" maintenance items (or upgrades!" to be done?

So I assume its not allowing the car to move or is there another issue? Was there any indication prior that it was going out? The reason I ask the question is that i here a dull hum/ vibration when my car is in gear and at a stop. I suspect its my torque converter or something in the transmission. I thought it could also be collapsed motor mounts but they do not appear bad. The car has 130 miles on it. How many on yours?

Thank you

I didn't experience anything like that. It was more a difference when driving. Very hard to explain, but it felt almost like a speed limiter was engaged. Or like the shifts were delayed. After driving a car for a while you of course come to anticipate the shifts, and they were coming a bit late. And I'm honestly not sure I was getting into all of the higher gears when highway driving.

AND - i was getting P0741!

If this would happenned to me I would for sure bring car into transmission shop experienced with ZF transmissions, especially if car moves on it's own. Before going for 'second opinion', that I would make sure:
- There is no transmission leaks.The transmission fluid level is at proper level at proper temperature
- There is no transmission fluid within mechatronic's sleeve. All pins are intact, nothing brocken
Just those basic things before diving into transmission swap.

Although the transmission does need to come out, it's not a transmission SWAP, correct?

I actually suspect maybe the converter was damaged by driving the car with a wrong MAF sensor? Or at least some undue stress was put on it.

@Wooford XJR - I'm at ~122k.

You're suggesting to rebuild the tranny while it's out so that it'll be like new? Interesting!

I would replace the rear main seal unless you know it has already been done. I have had 2 4.2 V8 engines where they had to be replaced and it is so easy if you have already pulled the transmission.
