Default Touch screen blank, nothing works!

It's that gorgeous touch screen that runs the AC, Nav, Audio and all the other good things. When I started the car this morning I noticed it was out, completely blank. It's always when you need the AC, isn't it?

Anyone had this problem? A nice cheap fuse replacement, or sell another kidney? Any ideas?

Many thanks
David

The fuse box is in the passenger footwell. Any chance the screen was turned off in the menu? Try pressing the menu button on the right side of the screen bezel.

Thanks for the reply. I tried all of the buttons related to the screen; tried pressing the zones of the touch screen to see if the functions worked despite the loss of the picture. Nothing is working.

I've combed the fuse listings but see nothing [the theme of the day] that resembles this function although logic suggests it has one somewhere.

Again, thanks for the suggestions. Really appreciate your time - David

I know the fuse for the head unit is located in the passenger footwell as I had to pull it once when the screen locked up.

Check fuse number F20 or page 205 of the Driver's Handbook.

Tried those fuses but they all looked good. I'll slowly work my way through the others so see if another is at fault.

Slowly? Yes, I'm 2 months out of back surgery and that's a crazy place to have a fuse box!

Much obliged to you, jahummer

Do any of the hard buttons work? Like the radio, CDC, A/C, etc?

No, it's all dead. The only sign of life at all is "50" flashing on and off for external temperature.

A flashing 50 is an error code and means that the screen is not getting a response from the navigation unit in the boot.

The case is cracked! I tried the unit and found it won't eject the disc. Of course that presents a whole new challenge but at least I've a focus now!

Many, many thanks!

There's a MEGA thread about it, and I think you need either a newer disc or nav module.

I'm experiencing the same problem. Is there a reset to be done somehow? Or, dealership?
