Touch screen picture not right

When I start the car and the touch screen is on, the picture is scrolling instead of being steady. This disappear after driving for about 10mns. I have had this issue for months.
After changing the battery as the car one day would not start, it seems the problem solved itself.A few days ago the issue of scrolling picture came back. Any ideas what could cause this ?
The dealer quoted $8,000 for a new screen but I do not want to spend that kind of money when it seems to fix itself possibly randomly. The issue would be if I want to sell the car of course.

$8K is ridiculous, was that dollars or dirhams???
There are a number of X350 touchscreens for sale at the moment on various ebay sites. A reliable source from Latvia is selling them for EUR 330 plus freight (less than $500).
I'd suspect the scrolling comes from a wiring problem. A bad connection somwhere.
Does it seem to change speed with the engine revs? First thing unplug, clean and re-plug all the connections at the DVD drive, and the back of the screen.
Worst case if the bad connection is internal to the screen, well it won't cost you eight grand...

Thanks Cambo351. It was quoted to me by Jaguar Dubai as 30,000dhs! I think the guys don't know what they are doing. I am no mechanic unfortunately. Being a woman I feel I am being ripped off even more.
The scrolling seems to go once the car has been driving for 5-10mns so I would think it is not determined by the revs vs idle. Will get the AAA who normally look after my car to look at the screen for me. Jaguar Dubai are crooks but it is there at the moment as it failed to start 3 weeks after they put a new battery for the same non starting problem!

As I see it, the main problem where you are in Dubai is the lack of Jaguar experts. You seem to only have the Jaguar main agents so they can charge what they like! Advice here is good - get on the internet for parts and try to find a good independant mechanic who is willing to pay for access to the Jaguar IDS.
