Tracking devices and Car Electronics

Hi
I heard from a tracking device expert that there is unspoken awareness among tracking companies that some advanced tracking devices actually interfere with vehicle electronics, particularly the gearbox!
I somehow want to believe this as my ZF gave me hell on numerous occassions and for a long time when the car was still new at the time. The dealership kept changing oils, citing viscosity issues. Eventually it went in twice for a revamp. They got it right when it at had clocked 80,000KM.
I wonder if those problems were not due to the Tracker Company's device. The car is fine now, and has added over 120,000KM since the last g/box repair.
Has anyone heard about this issue and/ or suffered from a tracking device interference problem?
