Trans sticking in 4th / 5th gear on Freeway

Recently My 04 Jag, that has already been having trans issues (see post:Loud 'squeak' from rear of car) has been getting stuck in 4th or 5th gear on the Freeway. At 70mph the car would be sitting at 4000rpm. I could trick the car into 5th by getting it up to 80mph, and 6th by getting the car up to 85mph, or by using the J shift.
The result came back, after the dealer told me they checked the linkage (ok) reflashed (ok ), checked the fluid levels (also ok), making sure it was not "out of gear" (something that happens on this trans?). Yet they were stumped.
They called me today and told me it was fixed. Apparently, the front tire was a few pounds low. WTH?????? Are they serious!
Has anyone ever heard of this or am I completely nuts. Did i mention my warranty expires in 30 days. and that they can't give me any reassurance that my trans won't die in 31 days or 6 months or?

Have you checked if your transmission was set in sport mode?
I know that if I go wide open merging onto the freeway, my tranny will stay in either 3rd or fourth for a while. Even when it does upshift, it will stay in fifth until I cruise for a good 15 minutes.
In non-sport mode, as soon as I merge, the tranny will settle itself in 6th and the car will happily putt along at a cool 2000rpm.

I should have mentioned that is was "not" in sport mode and just normal driving. That is how my vehicle had always performed until just recently. They just added that, special trans fluid for the trans squeek, and a few weeks later it starts sticking in 4th.
But low tire pressure being the culprit??? I know there are tire rotation sensors (for traction control I am assuming) but I cannot see having the tire pressure low (not flat...Just Low) affect upshifting at freeway speeds. I cannot see having the tire pressure low affect tire speed rotation to that degree.
Also, this vehicle has since new, had the2004 XJR wheels as a dealer added option. and no problems in the first 50k miles with tires or wheels.
