Unhappy Translating "beep Beep BEEP"

This is just not my car's week. Flatbedded on monday. Door dented on wednsday. Hole in rear bumper on friday. Not a scratch until this week. So I'm trying to figure out how my wife could back a car into the hitch on my Suburban when the car is telling her that she is about to do so. I'm looking for a way to change the reverse tones from "beep Beep BEEEEEP!" to " beep Beep STOP DAMMIT!"

Anyway. I priced bumper covers for an 05 VDP online from $1230 down to $295. I wonder how quality a $295 bumper cover is? I'm thinking about waiting for the week to come to a complete end as I may need a front cover also before it's over. I might as well see if I can find an '08 '09 bumper cover and just update it.

Please educate your wives that when in reverse, the long tone after all the beeps means " you're going to hit something and cost your wonderful husband lots of money that could be better spent on you!"

I completely sympathise with you. When I get my car out from the garage the beep beep goes on 'coz the sensors on the side pickup the center post of the garage. My wife is so used to this "false" sensor that she ignores it & recently actually hit the the recycling bucket that wasn't placed properly (by me!). Luckily it was plastic & no damage.
Relax & have a drink
I know it's cliche but...... could have been worse!

Damn thats horrible, get that door dent with PDR (paintless dent removal). Id have been PISSED esp since im so careful where i park (never really next to any one unless the space is on the end and very wide, then i hug the curb )

Sometimes the sensors dont pick up narrow objects until you are almost to the point where it would go solid but that just reminds you to back up slow and never fully trust them.

A lot of people also make the mistake of not giving the system a few seconds to initialize, they just throw it in reverse n go.

Im sure things will look better for you this week as Jeff said

Will the 08 bumper covers fit on an earlier model without any modifications?

This thread may help... http://www.jaguarforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=15708

Looks like it should be okay. If you really want to do it right do the quarterpanels too... http://www.jaguarforum.co.uk/viewtop...14231&start=45
