Autohauz carries the Lifeguard 6. The dealers carry the Shell fluid, but they charge about 4 times more than the ZF fluid.

Thats what I figured I would use is the Lifegaurd.

I tend to be just the opposite ... I think the scheduled maintenance schedules are conservative and most schedules can even be extended without compromising the health of our cars. JMHO.

I've restored many cars that were on the "extended maintenance schedule". Didn't work out so good for the PO's...but I got some good deals!

It can also be done as a DIY by fitting hoses to the fittings at the cooler and cranking the engine to push the old fluid into a drain bucket from one hose while filling through the other hose. Clear vinyl hose is helpful in assessing the fluid as it pumps out.

There is some pressure so the drain hose has to be weighted down or fastened to the bucket. Otherwise it's like a garden hose whipping around.
