Default Trunk / boot struts

What is the general consensus on replacements for the trunk struts? I see a lot of negative reviews on the cheaper ($20-$30) ones being too powerful due to the lightness of the trunk lid. On the other hand I see the Sachs OEM offered for ~$150 ea. Mine still function, but the lid just unlatches, it has to be raised by hand, not out of the question, but inconvenient when holding a bag or 2 of whatever. It stays up just fine so leaving alone is, for now an option.

When mine started losing lift on my first X350, I was a bit poor at the time, so I swapped them out for some cheapies but they soon looked very doggy with rust, so I eventually bought a set of OEM on the internet. These were still on the car when I part-exed it and still working well and no rusting.
