Turn Signal Switch from X351 install into X350
Guys,
Had an issue with what turned out to be a defective "trip" button on my 04 XJR. Did the battery disconnect and nothing. Sprayed some electrical contact cleaner while depressing the trip button, no dice, which lead me to a turn signal switch replacement.
New switches are between $300 - $450. Ebay has used ones of course for around $75+ but in browsing I noticed the switches on the newer XJ's just look nicer with the chrome inserts.
After a lot of research I took a gamble, found a great deal with both turn and windshield switches and even a clock spring from a 2011 model for under $100.
It came with the harness sides for both switches but from what I can tell it would be "plug and play" and indeed they were.
Take a look at the pics.
Two Phillip's screws hold the bottom cover. (PH2 head and have patience) take the extra time and remove the three screws holding the top cover on. It makes things much easier.
Press the tabs, slide each switch pack out, swap the harness to the replacement switch, push and snap back in and tidy everything up.
Not only did I resolve my unresponsive trip switch it just looks sharper and adds to the beauty of the interior.
I attached pics of all including part numbers.
Hope this helps someone that may be in a similar situation...
Cheers!
PS - if anyone needs a working windshield wiper switch feel free to PM me.
