Default Twin screw xjr question

Hello everyone,
I have a 2.2l kenne bell supercharger I'm thinking about putting on my 2004 xjr. I see most people are using the larger displacement high pressure version but I'm wondering if the 2.2l would be worth the effort over the eaton. It's a brand new blower and I'm getting it for next to nothing so I'd like t stick with it if it will be sufficient. I build high horsepower muscle cars every day and it seems to me the 2.2 should work just fine. If any one has an opinion on the matter feel free to chime in. Thanks in advance!

There is no just bolting that on. Also the 2.2 is a different case then the one AVOS sells in his kit so likely his adapter parts and inlet wouldn't all fit quite right if he were to want to sell the pieces. And I don't even know if the snout is the right length, Bottomline is you can email AVOS who sells the kit and see what he says. And extra 100 or so rwhp is always a nice thing I assure you

Hi James, as Slowpoke says there is no bolting on the 2.2KB so you'd have to make some parts to make it work I.e. adapter plate, weld a backplate to the supercharger and find the correct length snout with right pulley spacer. If you can manage that you should see very respectable gains, probably over 100whp extra from a 2.2. I believe Avos (twin screw expert on our cars) has fitted a range of different sized units to the AJ33S to good effect e.g. a 2.1 KB on an STR made around 450whp reliably. Theoretically the 2.2 should be even more capable due to larger displacement. Krajok on this forum has fitted a 2.2 to his XKR and there is a gentleman with a 2.1 on his XKR in Sweden. Good luck if you do decide to embark on this project or at least sell me the blower if you don't

Thanks for the replies! I understand that I will need to fabricate my own parts to make this work. I was mostly wondering about hp potential with the 2.2 and you both answered that question well enough. It may be a while before I get around to fitting the kb but I will be sure to post pictures and all that good stuff when I'm done with it. Thanks again for the replies! One thing I still need to figure out is snout length needed does anyone have avos email address?

Hi James, sorry for the late reply. Not sure why your response didn't come through via e-mail as normal. Anyways, there are a range of different snouts which will bolt on to the 2.2 as the same unit was used in kits for different vehicles by KB. I can't remember where, but I have seen a range of sizes available for sale. May have been on PSE superchargers website or Kenne Bell's. Definitely do post up pictures of your build as I'm sure many others will be interested. I'm actually doing something very similar to what you plan now and am almost done so should be able to provide some assistance soon (my headunit is only 1.25 inches shorter than the 2.2 so you should get away with using the same snout with a different spacer). Will let you know what power increase I see too as I'll be visiting the dyno when I'm finished
