Hey John,
good to hear from you.
Yes, that's something I definitely have considered, was just talking to Dave about it last night again in fact, as the next route to look at and think about.
He's pretty sure they're ok and is convinced once new pads and discs are fitted it will be resolved.

I've spoken with Pagid and to be fair, they're really stepping up to the plate and have offered ANOTHER set of pads and discs free to resolve the problem.
I'm now just trying to get hold of Dougie at Prestige to get them ordered and will look at getting an alignment check and wheel balance when in too

So excited to hopefully finally put this to bed......saddo, lol

Good to hear Jim, as you say best £100 you've spent, hope that's everything sorted and you can now enjoy the car without worrying about when the judder will come back

Thanks Simon, really appreciate your thoughts and advice, all welcome
Yes, suffice to say I'm well chuffed.
She's booked in for next Friday to get new pads and discs Courtesy of Pagid ( they really stood by this ) I'm going to get the 4 wheel alignment done too and front wheels balanced just to be on the safe side, then hoping all is well.

I've got her booked in to anonymous detailing at the end of the month too, a 2 stage correction to bring the paintwork up to snuff.

In the meantime ( and if time allows ) I still have to try the polishing kit I got for the window trim, the add on door seals, wheels off and repaint hubs / calipers and the sound deadening.....lol

Look forward to seeing you on the 5th Simon
Cheers

NO......lol
replaced both front piston units, seal kits and new sliders / bushes too!

Should be going in on Friday for new discs and pads, under warranty courtesy of Pagid of course.
Thank god, this judder is driving me absolutely bonkers.

Thanks Evan, appreciate the compliment
Still kinda living with the intermittent issues with the phone / radio etc, but I'll get there.

Well, in at my Indy today to look at these issues again.
Pagid have once again, stepped up to the plate, even though I guess I theory / practice they could've walked away by now!
They supplied another free set of discs and pads, see pic.....

These were fitted by my Indy and then I asked for a 4 wheel alignment, this was done too, all for no charge!!

Happy bunny to say the least.
Of course as it stands at the moment the braking juddering issue is resolved, only time will tell if the piston was indeed the cause, I should know in about 6-8 weeks I guess.

Afterwards even though I was confident that the wheels were properly balanced I had the fronts done again.
All good for now

Well, the sun was out, a nice day and after my "head cleared" somewhat.....big night last night for daughters' 30th, I decided to tackle the add on door seal.

Here's a few videos below, the product is shown in an earlier post. The videos show the door seal, pre add on product and seal obtained.
The product in place, and also the end result

Check out the existing door seal prior to adding the add on version

Here's the add on door seal in place

Here's the paper test afterwards

It seems like a real improvement.
I took a test drive and definitely seems better wind noise related, now have to address the tyre road noise with the sound deadening.

The doors seem to close tighter, forming a better seal as you'd expect. There's almost a "sshhh" noise as I open the door like I'm releasing a vacuum somehow.
Onwards n upwards

Just bought a new set of car mats for my car, the old ones are actually in really decent shape and I'll keep them for work days and as winter mats I guess.
The new ones are actually pretty awesome, really nice pile and a bang on 100% excellent fit specifically for the LWB model, they really fill the floor space perfectly, have the correct hole spacings and seem really well made, see here from Ultimate car mats....

I haven't been able to find car mats with the JAGUAR logo added except from the dealer at extortionate pricing, even then not really what I want, so....

I also purchased these from Ebay, actually a grille badge, see below....

The mats are already here and test fitted, 100% perfect and very pleased.
Once the badges arrive, the plan is to check for fitting ( they will be added between the holes near the rear of the mat, horizontally )
I plan to drill holes through and attach them, then button them up for a nice tight fit and hopefully a customised look / finish

Back from the paint shop today......

There were 2 small issues that need looked at and remedied, now done
Over and above this there was a small piece of corrosion on the leading edge of the front passenger door, now resolved too.

Dependent on a few family issues and weather, I'm hoping to either get the wheels off and hubs / calipers freshened up as they've been off / on a few times recently due to brake work, and or get into my sound deadening project.

She's into the detailer next Tuesday / Wednesday for 2 stage paint correction and should be nice n shiny after that, all being well

Well, finally got around to making a start on my sound deadening, emptied the boot, that was a feat in itself.....lol
Then carpet removed and everything was vacuumed out and cleaned up ready to start.......

I started around 12.30 pm and didn't finish until around 6.30pm so took a fair old while, unsure if it was me being slow or what, but didn't expect that long........
I used Silent Coat 2mm sound deadening Silent Coat 2mm Mat Bulk ? Sound Deadening Shop
It's a really nice sticky self adhesive product with a nice finish, applied all over and stuck well with the use of a roller. I stopped at this and may add the Silent mat later....we'll see.....

here's a few pics

Then put the carpet back in place and loaded up as normal and went for a run to test.
Certainly made a difference in a positive way and glad it's done n dusted, out the way, may look to add the Silent mat at a later stage.

Thanks
Jim

Ok, so now looking at a few things to get sorted.....
Heading to National tyres on Saturday morning to get an oil change done, probably a little premature but will be due soon so I'll just get er done and be done with it.....£45 with 10-% discount voucher makes it around £40

I've just made some enquiries on other work too, she's just hit 101k and will soon be needing a few other bits n pieces

Cam belt incl tensioners and water pump
Possibly a new battery too. No "real" issue for me right now, but the car's almost 8 years old, I've had it for a little over 2 years and haven't changed the battery, it may even be the original, I really need to check

Having said that I've had a couple of slightly longer than usual starts recently, nothing to get too concerned about in all honesty, but has me thinking. Worst case scenario it's 8 years old and really time for a change, best case, maybe 3-4 years old and still probably passed it's best.

Haven't decided on which one I'll go for yet, but it'll probably be an uprated version on the original in terms of AH and also CCA
Imo this isn't a bad thing especially given our car's electrics, tbh an extra £20 -£30 if required is neither here nor there .

I'm also getting the car read and cleared for any codes and will check again shortly. I've been having trouble with my sound, I have a thread on it here....https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...uction-150517/

The sound sometimes disappears, then returns, there is a 4-5 sec delay on incoming phone calls too

Evan Trinh has suggested replacing the fibre optic cabling from the rear to the devices, so it looks like I'll be giving that a go too to see if it resolves my problems
Onwards n upwards eh?

As for the battery, mine was the original, badged "Jaguar" but actually a Varta silver-top. It lasted ten years, so I got another. Mine was the big one, I ordered it online from a place near Tewkesbury called Battery Megastore at a good price. I asked the makers for the current equivalent, they said

"There are two listing depending on performance.

If the original battery was around 75Ah then the replacement will be part number: 574 012 068 (short code = E11)

If the original battery was around 95Ah - 100Ah then the replacement will be part number: 600 402 083 (short code = H3)

Went along with Danny ( Pegasus3710 ) today as it was time for an oil change for his X358
I took him to the guys I use at National Tyres, with discount voucher, an oil and filter change for £40, all good

Mine probably has a little while yet, but must be close to needing it done, I'm here anyway so just get it done whilst I'm in, all good for another wee while
