If you get the "not a nav disc" error, try two things - first, clean the disc and put it back in. Second, make an iso image of the disc and then burn a fresh copy. Unless the disc has been really damaged physically, this will work.

Any one know where I can get the 2011-2012 Nav DVD I have tried a few locations mentioned in this thread but no luck. Does anyone know if the 2013 Nav Dvd will work in a 2005 s-type?

You can get the updated navigation DVD 2011-12 from TCM this guy used to sell it in ioffer.com but the DVD it is not longer available there for some reason. I got in contact with him at: tcmartin@ gmail.com write him what you need and then he will answer you back with the information also you would have to open a Google wallet account so he can charge you $56.75 shipped . I already bought mine and it is on its way . You will get an email from him and a UPS tracking # once you pay for the item

Default Gmail guy works

Hey, I bought the 2011-2012 disk this week from the guy listing the gmail address above.

Just like everyone else describes with the Google Wallet.
I was concerned with the Wallet thing at first, but turns out I had already set one up for something else.

Disk arrived a day early, installed in 5 minutes, appears to work like a charm.

Good communication, good service, good product, good price.

I got a disk from the gmail guy too...have not installed yet though - I could not find a procedure, I did read something like:

turn on key, but do not start
eject old disk
insert new disk
nav screen will say updating (or similar)
leave ignition on until done

is that correct?

I posted this previously and hope it helps:

I posted this on another thread, but I bought the $56 disc from iOffer and it works perfectly. Started the car, ejected the old disc, inserted the new, took it for a spin. Message tells you it's loading version xxx, don't turn off the ignition. Within 1 mile the Nav screen came up, new version and it works fantastically. I was skeptical, but took a chance and could not be more pleased. Wish every issue on these cars was so easily and inexpensively solved. May update the 07 XKR as well.

Good luck with your disks.
Dale

Has anyone heard of cracked or modified navigation software for the Jag which would allow you to program a destination while driving? It is a serious hassle to have to be in park in order to enter an address.

I know that hacked software is available for other makes, such as Lexus and Chrysler. They have touch screen nav systems and with a little Internet research, you can find modified software readily available.

I was just thinking about this the other day. I am going to research this.... there has to be a wire that triggers the gps to know the car is in park. It either requires a ground or 12v power that will make the GPS think the car is in park. At least this is what I am hopping.
