Default Various woes no at an end? The tale of my 2.7TD 2008 XJ

In short.
Failed MOT on EPB light my usual mechanic RHR in Pensnett Dudley is no expert in EPBs, so recommended another
Took to J.A.G. in Bilston West Mids
Replaced EPB module
Got through MOT but light back on soon after.
Swapped motor with one lying around workshop to check no joy so he said he'd source a replacement.
On way home from garage drive shaft comes out of rear diff
5 hour wait for AA after the sound of clunking metal made me almost cry.
Repaired over weekend??
Failed drive shaft thingy as I drive out of the ind est where J.A.G is. So more frustration and clunking. Luckily no need for AA.
Got ferried home by mechanic.
Being picked up by mechanic today. Apparently the bolts holding the diff were not fully in due to been gunged up with locktite and were vibrating loose. Threads cleaned and checked. Secured tested on the road.
EPB light now off and car is hopefully fixed.
Getting picked up by mechanic soon.
Have not been charged for any labour at all and no parts or labour connected to drive shaft issue.
Total cost £330 inc new epb module and replacement p/b motor and new MOT
All work guaranteed for 12 months
Hopefully this is the END of the saga.
Attitude of mechanic apologetic and helpful.
**** happens??

That's quite a tale of woe. What is the mileage on this car?

112,000.

It has 80 something when I got it and it has been my everyday car for 3 years. It has been very reliable.

It had a new rear differential 18 months ago, and a coolant leak repaired last month. Obviously brakes and tyres when needed but no other issues. It drives beautifully.

Glad to hear you're over your nightmarish couple of days. Happy motoring.

Thanks. It's the best car I've ever had and I'm so glad it's working like it should again.

In my experience time consuming/expensive Jag maintenance nightmares never end, they just pause for awhile until the next one.
