Default "Vehicle too low" after R&R of upper a-arm

I just completed the R&R of the upper control arm on my 04 XJR which requires removal of the air spring. As instructed, I removed the 12mm air line to let air bleed out. After reassembly, the car sits low on the side that was repaired and gives "Vehicle too low" message. I have checked for leaks and there aren't any, cycled the battery for good measure - no change. Really bummed as the car didn't have any issues prior to repair. Any suggestions?

Rear wheel heights are controlled individually with one height sensor per wheel. You could have disturbed this during the job, or disturbed or damaged the wiring connection to it.

Just a thought.

Thanks for the suggestion, though prior to pulling the spring I disconnected the sensor mount from the lower control arm so that I would not over extend it's range.... I have also checked the 3 fuses that are related to the air suspension and all ok

I assume you have run the engine?

According to Brutal (our professional mech), some cars need to be driven around a bit before they will recover the height.

Max about 20 mins driving I think.

He is right! Ended up getting frustrated and pulled the car off the lift, fortunately by the time I pulled out of the driveway it had decided to "raise from the dead", so that's the good news the bad news is that clonking noise is still there!
