My Super V8 came standard with Y-rated tires and I was under the impression super charged models were limited to 155MPH, at least based on what I have read. Unless someone can confirm, I will see if I can find the sales brochure.

If anyone knows of a case where someone was prosecuted for speeding because he bragged about speeding on the internet, please let me know (with a link or cite).

I'm always up for learning new things.

Jeez what a train wreck...

Here we go....guns guns guns...typical American. I suppose you're fat, loud and obnoxious too, what other cliché can you fill? (it's ok i'm being sarcastic, which means I can say whatever I want & not be accountable )

It's just you're story would have been a lot funnier if you'd admitted to bring drunk, with a minor and a hooker in the car, and you were speeding 'cause you were running late to pick up an 8-ball of coke....why stop at just reckless driving? If you're gonna push it, go all the way...

Don't have time to dig up the links, but it happened on pistonheads.com a few years ago, the event he bragged about wasn't the one he was prosecuted for, but it was used as evidence of prior reckless behaviour.

Default Seriously American and Australian History Lessons

From Guns to Deportations to a land of immigrants and finishing with government paranoia. There is plenty of cultural pain proudly to go around. As a former government worker that had to carry a gun and legally traveled at extra legal speeds over 100+mph; I was lucky to survive. It wasn't fun, it is a job and not a conspiracy. Surprise, it's not always about you. Now in the private sector this is great get paid, no guns or racing around taking care of everyone and I get to drive a nice car.

I kind of like Jaguars and just want to keep my 04' VDP running. Simple enough.

You're right, Cambo351, this is a train wreck. I tried to extend an olive branch a couple of posts ago, in an effort to make amends, yet you felt compelled to ignore it and add another 'scene' to my tale of top-speed in the VDP, albeit with juuust a bit of aspersion...

For the record, I'm not a fat, loud, obnoxious, drunk, druggie, pedophile, or philanderer. I am, however, a proud American exercising his constitutionally protected rights to bear arms and to free speech. When in Rome, I suppose... I'm happily married (15 years) with well-adjusted kids and a mortgage on a house in the suburbs... Living the American dream, if you will. I like to drive rapidly, it's one vice I doubt I'll ever set aside and I'm also loving my 'new to me' VDP and that's why I came here, to talk about cars.

Clearly, I offended your sensitive sense of National pride when I referred to the country of Australia as a "prison camp", albeit, in jest. I thought it funny, you took offense and now, all this escalation. I am sorry to have upset you. It was never my intention to exasperate rather, to banter.

Having said that, this will be my final attempt at making peace. Hopefully, we can get the train wreck all cleared up and be friends. I'm buyin' the first pint whenever you come to Vegas

Vance
