Default Wanted to update y’all on the trip.

Below are some of the pictures I took the way back to Houston Texas. Being I was starting off my journey in Angels Camp, Californa as that’s where my friend had a shop to check out the car, I thought It best and more fun to go through the Sierras up into Utah through the salt flats and back down. Ultimately ended up being a longer trip but was throughly more enjoyable. I managed to catch the World Finals going on at Bonneville Speedway on the 29th of September. Truly was a memorable experience visiting Bonneville and driving through the mountains and I hope to do it again soon. For those curious as to the road’s I traveled, after starting in Angel’s Camp Californa I went up highway 4, up to 89 and then highway 88 through to Carson City and stayed on 580 till Reno and hopped on 80 all the way to the Salt Flats in Utah. From there I went around Salt Lake City, continued south on 15 till I got to Spanish Fork Utah and went down US 89 to highway 6 and onto 191 until I got to Green River and hopped onto I -70. That way through Utah was extremely beautiful and I’d happily do it again. Took I -70 all the way to Denver and stayed the night in Fort Collins as I’ve got family there. Next day continued to take 70 through Kansas till I -135 to 35 south to OKC and onto Houston the next day.

Brian,

I followed your route on the map. Not exactly the shortest way home but you certainly passed through some great country.

Definitely not the shortest way home but got to see some country I haven’t before. Also have family in Fort Collins Colorado and Oklahoma City so it worked out. Will post some more pictures below.

Also happen to have some video’s from Bonneville Speedway for the World Final’s that I took on the 29th of September. Not quite sure how to post them.

Racers gathering up for the World Finals on September 29th at Bonneville Speedway. Was $20 dollars for the day. Quite worth it for a day to spectate.

Default Beautiful pictures

That was without any doubt an incredible experience. I would love to do that, but at this point I'm too far (Florida)

By the way our cars looks very similar!

Thank you!! The wheels are Chrome Plated. On the window sticker it says it was a factory option I’m pretty sure. Need to get them refurbished slightly but I love the look.

Looks fantastic. Have driven most of that route, but in a new car. Not brave enough to try in the 2006 XJR. But yours looks to be in better shape than mine.

Mine were taken from a 2006 VDP a few years ago, I loved how they looks since the first time I saw them. The owner was a local dealer who's had a lot of XJ8's at the lot.

The good thing about these wheels is how easy to clean they are. Sometimes just a piece of paper is enough to get them shiny.

I am not sure how it is now, but Highway 1 south from San Fran was a nice little jaunt.
Camping out is the Big Sir, in the treebones resort was wonderful. There was very little
light pollution and the Milky Way fairly jumped into view. The drive was effortless and
a lot of fun.
