Default Transmission Service/Headlight Resto/Sealing, Euro Plate

Front Seal and Through Plug Or-Ring were worn so they were replaced. Finally got her back this week so I’ve cleaned her up, restored/sealed the headlights and installed my custom Euro plate (California Edition). It has been a very satisfying week to say the least. Next is paint decontamination and some color correction. Cheers!

So as a follow up to yesterday I decided to go ahead and change out the pads on my 04 XJR.

18MM bolts up front and 103 ft lbs torque?

Holy crap.

All 4 pads were on petro fumes....

First time tackling Brembo calipers. The first one was tough, but after fiddling the other 3 went smooth.

I swapped out the semi metallic brakes from TRW that were on it to Akebono ceramic pads. Looking forward to less brake dust.

License plates were looking a little shabby so I replaced both front and rear with new ones, pretty limited with what we can do with them in Ireland so they are rather bog standard but pristine.

Gave my headlights a treatment using Meguiars restoration kit. They came up well apart from a few stubborn marks which will require some more elbow grease to get to the level I want.

Unjammed my jammed CD rack and gave the mechanism a but of lubrication.... all well so far.

Gave it a very good wash and shine just in time for the heavens to open and drench both myself and my XJ..... Irish summers !!

How did you you go about unjamming your cd rack? I have the same problem, I get CDC error reported on my nav screen & the caddy will not eject in the boot.

What product did you use to to seal them with? Have been waiting to do mine until I found a good sealant that lasts.

Tried a little trick that I have used on cars in the past before I started removing light covers and carpeting from the boot etc....
Press the eject button and while the motor is engaging just give the CD cartridge a few taps with the handle of a screwdriver toward the left hand side of the unit.
It usually works and then just lubricate the mechanism to try to stop it happening again.

Default A different post...

Not so much WHAT I did to my Jag but who I did it with

My daughter is 15, just ended soph year and got her learners permit. My daily is a 358 and my fun cars are 86 XJ6 and 75 BMW 2002

So I just thought of this post after watching my daughter cruising down the road in the 2008 X358 with a big smile on her face... as we chatted and she complained about the touchy gas peddle and awesome sound system

Today will be her maiden voyage on XJ6 SIII and this summer starts stick lessons on the BMW

I love that she is becoming a “car girl” and that has started commenting on the boring **** that surrounds us down the road!!

Cheers and Long Live The Queen on this rebellious 4th wknd

Default Paint Correction and Interior Detail

Washed, clayed and did a complete paint decontamination with iron removal. Used a Chemical Guys Torq DA Polisher, Finishing Pad and Griots Correcting Cream. Finished it off with Griots Finishing Sealant and the car looks amazing. Paint is brilliant, no swirls or oxidation. Took my time and did it right! Interior was done using Griots Leather Cleaner, Meguiars Leather Conditioner, Meguiars New Car Scent Bomb, and 3D Upholstery Cleaner with some WOOLITE for the the Lambs Wool Mats. Kid you not, the previous owner smell is gone I get to really enjoy her on weekends in pristine manner as she should be enjoyed.

Thank you, i normally tend to buy lighter colored cars (silver/white) but the Jag has the most beautiful metallics in the market. Adds to the rarity factor in my city 💯

If you like driving tastefully, it’s well worth spending the time correcting the paint on your premium leaper. Cheers!

Considering that I was looking for Silver exterior Black interior combo, I am glad that I strayed away from my norm and very happy with this beautiful example of an XJ8.

I've got a big new screen for my computer. (Samsung 55" QLED)
"So what?"
So I REALLY appreciate decent resolution photos in crisp focus, of Jaguars, just as the last few photos have been.
Excellent photos by indyx358, and jazzyjags for the spectacular red one, to name the last 2.
I'm only 2m from my 55" screen. I wanted to climb in :-) Sound please ...
----------
"Is that a fly on your bumper or are you just pleased to be here?"

Hmmm...where's the number plate jazzy? black-on-black?
