Since the 2020 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie is STILL at Enterprise to get a bedliner installed and the Rover is up on jack stands because of an EPB issue I took the Jag out for its first drive in maybe a couple of months Friday!
The free rental is a Nissan Rogue....enough said.
Now I remember why I like this car so much even tho I went to the dentist.

Replaced O2 sensors
Two week ago I had an upstream bank 1 error code, so I decided to replaced all 4 O2 sensors with my low priced e-bay find. BIG MISTAKE!! The big cat started to smoke and misfire after a week. Today I replaced them all with the OE DENSO sensors, and all is well...Anybody want the bargain sensors?? LOL..

Rear wheel bearings.
Took it to friend Lazlo’s workshop so that I could steal his four post for half an hour just before he closed, I have been conscious of a wheel bearing hum recently, convinced that is was o/s/r; but was unable to confirm that when I changed the rear pads on the drive a few days ago. My directional hearing must be failing as it turned out to be the n/s/r, I also found slight play in the adjacent upper wishbone bushes, and both anti roll bar drop links. £180 later all the parts are on their way to me, so not too bad. A couple of hours to fit it all next week and I should be extraneous noise free again.
One doesn’t notice gradual wear, but five bob says that the car will feel sharper when it’s done.

Auxiliary Pump replacement
Switched out the auxiliary water pump yesterday, on St Patty's day. Ran the car long enough to bring the temperature about half way up to the normal operating temperature. Was rewarded with a better supply of heat than before, with heat increasing steadily as the temp went up.Turned the motor off, went into the house, then back out today, withno leaks on the floor, or under the hood, should have plenty of heat now.

Did mine from the top, but its not super charged.
Changed rear shocks, front lower control arms.
As well as sprayed fluid film, onto the steel components underneath.

Header tank off, upper hoses out of the way, and that's about it. The pump fixings are 10mm as far as I remember, the small wrench is on one of them.
During the past few hours, left hand rear wheel bearing, upper wishbone, and both drop links; about £180 for the parts, and 3.5 hours of not too strenuous work. The car feels much tighter now.

Getting ready to swap.out my upper radiator hose on my 04 XJR. It served me well for 16 years but the rubber is shot. It swells when the car is running and feels squishy when at ambient temp.
Side by side comparison and feel - the rubber is just spent.
$105 for that replacement hose, ugh!!!

Spark Plugs Replaced at 91K Miles
Was going to do it myself but I found a certified technician that does work on Jaguar, BMW and Benz from his home. Great price for the labor (hundreds less than my British shop). The most important thing is that everything was done efficiently and to spec (gap and torque on the plugs - Trust me, I hovered). Next is control arm bushings and then engine mounts. Cheers!
