What to look for? Buying an 04 XJR

Nobody said Jags were old man cars. The question had to do with "what is the smart way to buy an XJR".
I have been buying and selling Jags sense my late 20s. Take it from me. If you want a high risk purchase, buy a high performance car from a 20 something male. If you would minimize the risk of a high perf car purchase, find a 50 plus seller.

I'm sure you boys have nerves of steel, lightening fast reflexes, superlative driving skills, love your mothers and take good care of your cars. Some of you may even look good doing it.
I do suggest, however, that your reading comprehension needs a tad bit of work. Like maybe you don't read so good?

You guys are a riot!
I am positive the older guys have some superior driving skills due to experience. However, the younger guys push harder and take more risks (not exacty the right thing to do).
I have a habit of being hard on my cars. I live in Long Island off of a busy 3 lane divided highway where stop light racing is as frequent as your morning cup of coffee.
Will the big jag start complaint after a few hard launches?
I am hoping with the new car I find some new maturity, but fact of the matter is, if this car didn't have 400/400, I wouldn't be interested in driving it everyday. I can borrow my Fathers VDP for that!
Oh and by the way, he is 65! LOL.

Regarding the car actual, inspect all joints within the suspension system thoroughly, front and rear. If the bushings can be replaced, great; if not, you will have to buy new control arms at around $600 each.
The "hood open" switch on front closure device can just "go bad", but you can remove the switch and jump the connector to bypass it.
There is at least one recall (J004) which my dealer did at no charge. Check the headliner, mine isn't the only one to fail (heat?). The power headrests are cool, unless someone's jacked it and ruined it.
Mine has 1 Arnott airspring and is a bit suspect on moguls. I'm a believer in fresh trans fluid but these have a "sealed for life?" designation or something.
Mine has 90k miles on it, and doesn't seem to burn any oil, and the oil itself barely darkens over the 3k mile oil change interval; if you could somehow arrange to drive the machine to check oil burning, you would be ahead of the game.
I don't know how to check the headlamps but I've seen on this forum that they're expensive. I just put Pirelli P-zero tires on mine and got rid of the excessively large contact patch Nittos, which had ruined the handling.
Oh by the way, excessively powerful 0-60 acceleration and high top speeds seem to be normal on these XJ8 cars, I wouldn't let that scare me off.
