So my BMW is heavily modded. Not so much preformance wise.I find the car is gooed enough as is stock & I just replace or upgrade to better OEM parts as they wear down or just because I want to keep it fresh.

For the most part it's all technololgy or visualmods, L.E.D's lights, trunk lip stainless steel pedal covers, upgraded media center strut bar & many more.

Outside of rims & wider tires & tint what types of mods are people doing to there XJ's?

I saw a thread about doing somthing with the stock navi. Outside of that I can't really thing of anything that these cars need to make them better.

 

Well, my XJR has copped the following so far, plus a few still on the to-do list;

Aesthetics/Tech Done
Grille & Boot Trim changed from colour-coded to chrome
Black mesh upper & lower grille
Side markers/reflectors chrome-wrapped
R badges removed
Suspension lowered
White bulbs for the main beams, park & fog lights
All interior wood wrapped in gloss black vinyl
Steering wheel badge painted black
Steering wheel was half-wood half-leather, replaced with a full-leather S-Type R wheel
Tape player replaced with CD
Fitted an ACM in place of the non-functional CD changer

Aesthetics/Tech To-do (realistic)
Change the Motorola fixed phone for bluetooth (have the parts, need the time)
Change all the interior bulbs to LED's (did it on my old X-Type, but not a priority)
Change all the interior bulbs to LED's
Speaker upgrade (already have the 320W 12-speaker system)

Erm...... My (caldoofy) intake tube
Full cat back stainless 2.5 inch exhaust with x pipe centre resonator delete and custom tips.
K+N filter with flap mod.
285 rear tyres.
Lowered suspension (40mm front 35mm rear).

Styling and interior.

Front DLR led lights.
Focal 12 inch subwoofer and dedicated Focal mono block amplifier installed.
Fully sound deadened boot lid, number plate plastics and boot floor (required as rattles were prominent once sub was installed!)
LED number plate lights installed.

On the to do list.

Finish my stage 2 induction tube.
Sport cats to install.
Porsche 6 pot brakes with alcon 400mm discs on the front.
LSD diff install.
Remap.
Upgrade front speakers with dedicated amplifier.
Light tint on the windows.

I feel embarrassed with what I have done to mine compared to these guys LOL

My car is a 4.2 03 XJ8 it has from the stock headers out new 200 cell cats in 2/1/4 inch pipes to a merge pipe centre mufflers delete and standard at the rear

Aftermarket remap KN filter in the original air-box

ACM module cassette replaced with CD head unit new 2 ohm speakers in the doors CDT Audio CDT Audio Coaxials

Tinted windows

Drilled and slotted stop tech rotors akebono low dust pads

New headlining

All headlight globes and ballasts replaced all white now including adding HID to fog lights LED weren’t available when I did the conversion

New Gear knob matching rest of wood interior

To do list change diff gears to 3,06 got the diff just waiting for when they can reprogram gearbox to accept diff

that should do it

 

Just in case anyone is subscribed to this thread and wants to add an intake tube by caldoofy for your XJR/superV8, I wanted to let you know that I have one for sale. I was able to pull it from my superV8 after the accident. First one who PMs me and wants to pay $100 shipped in the US, gets it. Not a scratch on it and has all of the hardware you'll need.
