what's needed to get the rear entertainment video working on front nav screen

To take this thread in a slightly different direction, as the father of two young children, it would be fantastic if I could see what the kids are seeing and control the rear DVD screens from the the front screen, even if only when stopped. The current arrangement, arching around to see what is going on and then reaching back to fix it is unsafe even for the front passenger when the car is moving and simply annoying when it isn't. Even brand new rear seat entertainment systems seem primitive and inconvenient compared with just about any other consumer electronics.

You Made My Day!
There are multiple reported cases of truck drivers watching **** in the cabs of their trucks using laptops mounted on the dash while driving with a load ... and getting into accidents.
The XJ is a heavy car, a fully loaded big rig is heavier and higher with a steel plate for a bumper.
So, if the two of them have a headon while watching their shows, the big rig wins.
Why not just get it over with and install a 50 inch flat screen for a windshield and use the PIP function with a camera to steer the car?
