Wheel swapping
Hello let me introduce myself, I am Nige I have only just joined this site and have to admit to being a bit of a Luddite when it comes to technology. I have only just mastered facebook. So please bear with me.
I own a 2004 XJR 4.2 which I have had for the last three years, probably the nicest motor I have ever owned. Today I bought some 20" Sepang wheels from an XKR to replace the 19" one's fitted onto mine which need a refurbish.
Surprise surprise the holes on the wheels do not match the stud spacings on the hub. I therefore need help on this forum as to which way to go now.
Can I buy an adaptor, do I have to change the Hubs, or is the simplest way to try and exchange for XJ 20" Seppangs which are a straight fit. The one's I bought are very smart indeed with no need to have them refurbished (Which is quite hard to get hold of)
The car currently has four Pirellis on it 255/40/19s and the new ones are 255/35/20 for the front and 285/30/20 for the rear.
Any advice will be gratefully received. Nige

What year XKR ? The aluminium XK has the same suspension as the aluminium XJ, (apart from having coil, not air springs), but the XK up to 2005 is completely different.
I would forget about changing hubs, certainly I cannot see how any adapter could work. Sell off the wheels that don't fit and get a set that do.
