Angry where can I find your repairs for my Jaguar xj8 in San Antonio Texas

my stupid husband talk me into buying a car a Jaguar xj8 with a hundred and twenty thousand miles on it was needless to say we haven't even had it a 2 months and he's breaking down on it. I took it to the shop last week and spent $300 just for them to tell me that it was a minor problem and they fix it but it cost $300 so now I'm trying to find another shop that I can get major repairs done and it not cost me $2000 for them to change the oilI knew we should have never bought this car but I let my husband talk me into it and now it is my worst nightmare please someone help me

Hi Lisa
Can you tell us a bit more about the car, like what year, and did it come with any evidence of service and maintenance ? The aluminium XJ saloons from 2003 are very long lasting, but like all up-market cars the parts can be expensive, and will be very expensive if you go to a Jaguar main agent. Far better as said here, to go to a Jaguar specialist. There are lots of parts now available on the internet at far more reasonable prices.

Here in England, the editor of the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club has an early XJ8 from 2003, and it's currently on 230,000 miles. He's now thinking of maybe getting a replacement, although it is still running well.

A photo would be good. too

But a set of Rhino ramps, a drain pan, maybe a Mityvac and do your own oil changes. The oil is 26.00 for 5 quarts of Edge or Mobil one at Walmart. Oil and filter is less than 50.00.
These cars need some work after 100,000 miles. Most important is a drive belt. Listen at start up when cold for squeaks.
At good independent mechanic shop will save a lot. And hopefully the repairs will end and you can just drive.
But if lower cost maintenance is needed, look for a Toyota. They definitely require less attention after 100,000 miles.

hi Lisa! have you tried Victor's on basse rd? a bit pricey sometimes, but he's the most reliable as far as jaguars go. there's a guy also on isom road near 281, but I haven't tried it out. or you might try Hudson's automotive on 1604 and shaenfield road. he works on all types of cars, but has worked on my '83 xj6 as well as '04 xj8 in the past.
