Where to get one of these?
Chrome/aluminum j-gate shifter surround insert. Parts department said $600, I said pass. Perhaps someone here know where to get one at a good price? Looks a hell of a lot better than the dull black plastic one. Thanks.

$600? $200? What the heck? It's a damn piece of plastic! My chrome is chipping off, I'm thinking of just getting some shiny chrome paint and touching it up.
[EDIT]I guess you are talking about the whole piece that goes under the parking brake button/switch. I was just talking about the chrome piece that goes around the J-gate.

I did not, but thank you for the suggestion. I assumed that since prices on everything else are quite reasonable at the dealer, $600 must be the correct price. She thought that was a ridiculous price too and suggested that perhaps Jaguar did that to keep clients from using Portfolio trim on their cars.
Anyhow, it might be worth a check.

That is one of the factory pieces I had chromed, black plastic gear shift surround as well as the plastic bits of the overhead console (not the buttons or wood) Arden wanted way too much money for it so I had them done locally. Makes for perfect accents that look factory and not cheesy. I'll post pics of the rest of them as soon as I can. I have before pics, but everyone should already know what those look like.

Yet another thing I wish I had done years ago.
What were you trying to do?

The pic is not from my car, but since I did not take any before pics, I am using it as an example. On all models but the Portfolio it is dull black plastic with a thin lip of chrome touching the wood. When I saw it on a Portfolio, I knew I had to have it, but not for the $600 price tag parts said it cost. Besides it is polished alloy on the Portfolio and dulls easily. Chrome is better
