Before My recent oil pan and seal change of the transmission, I started hearing a whirring noise which was consistant with RPM and the gearbox changes. It was initially low in volume but has over time seemed to get louder and louder (to me).

I thought the oil pan and seal change would alleviate the issue as it really sounded like it was coming from the transmission to me sat in the driver seat, the oil pan by the way was probably on it's original oil and pan from the looks of the crap inside and the original screws being used.

Well the oil change has not alleviated the noise. The whirring is still there and is slightly more concerning. I am thinking is it the start of something worse or something as simple as a fan belt or serpentine belt that may require changing. It also seems like I can feel the whirring through the accelerator. It is quite hard to explain.

When cruising there is no noise. Its runs silky smooth and silent.

P.S. I also forgot to mention the rear Differential now has oil in it, which I also thought could have caused the whirring noise but having oil hasn't made the noise go away.

When the oil change was done the TCM was not flashed as that was going to cost another $100 which I didn't want to pay. Could that be the problem?

Any one have any suggestions, Anyone around the Dallas area with IDD/SDD want to flash my car for me?

 

I have a similar sound, though probably not quite as persistent or alarming as yours.

I, too, had the ATF changed and a new filter etc (last week).

I am also thinking serpentine belt or similar, and refusing to think "diff"!

It could also be a hub or hubs.
