Yeah they are! lol why are you set on Brembo brand pads?

Did you know they have after-market pads for a lot less that are just as good if not better then the Brembos and will work on your car?

I just ordered some pads and rotors from brakeperformance.com, I dealt with Andy. you can get pads for as low as $60 for ceramic pads shipped. A few guys on here with the Brembos swear by them. Mine are with UPS still so I cant tell you how I feel about them yet. The Price couldnt be better though

Ive also heard lots of people like hte EBC Red-Stuff pads. A little more expensive but they were raving about them.

Also heard good thinks about Akenboro or something like that. Thats a 3rd option.

Hope those help -Erik

Yeah I paid like $130 for my Red Stuff pads, but they are worth every penny.. I think mine came from www.buybrakes.com and they actually ship directly from EBC. Pretty much any ceramic pad will be noticeably better than the OEM garbage. So both of the sedans are up for sale Erik? what are you going to drive every day?

I just bought the Akebono's, but haven't had a chance to install them yet. OEM brakes squeal like a banshee and dust like a storm!!

Eric: Yes both are for sale and its looking tricky, I have yet another guy on my 7 Series (surprised it hasnt sold yet!) and might have a deal by the end of this week/beginning of next week. Optimally we really want an A8 to replace it. However, its hard to find one with good miles on it and the options/one of the colors we want.

I have a lead right now on a really nice '05 XJ to buy with great options and good miles that could be a great temp replacement until we find and A8.

When I sell mine I was actually planning to get an XJ so this 05 could end up being my main car or getting an XK.

Either way I def plan to end up with an XJ so I def will be able to re-use a new nav disc

I try not to think about it because Im def someone that likes to plan things out and I go crazy just thinking about it.

Cincinnati: Did you ever get your Sepangs re-finished for your curb problem?

bmw745ion19s, both your cars are very, very nice and i can tell that your particular about your equipment. I have not had a chance to look into the sepangs refurbish yet , but i do have a lead on a sepang exhange program which intrests me more so ( no down time) The real problem is i have 1 other motorsport hobbie that im involved in and its pretty costly and im more intrested in it at the time than the XJR but i'm dying to mod her.

I had my Akebono pads and rotors replaced last week and they are much better than the OEM brakes so far. Also learned my alignment was bad on the front and that was what was causing what I thought was loud tire noise. Front alignment was done and tires moved front/back and noise has really subsided.
