04, 88K miles.
P1638 code recently.. AARGH Intermittent, clear codes it comes back in a week, DRAT
Otherwise problem free..
One more thing, next time you change the oil and are under the car check the two screws on the bracket holding the shifter cable to the transmission. One fell out and the other one was very loose. Lost the shifter for a couple days till i found the root cause. Loose Screws. Locktite on em now....

Just passed the 100k mark! I have to say, this is the most comfortable long haul car we've owned...and to be able to travel over 500 miles before each fill up is huge (with family spread out across the country we drive a lot of miles). Rank of my top 5:
1) 05 Jaguar VDP
2) 05 Audi A8L
3) 04 Lincoln Navigator
4) 85 Volvo 740GLE
5) 98 Mercury Grand Marquis

Bought my 04 VDP with 83k on the clock....134k now. Brakes pads once, I'll do them again shortly along with rotor.....oil changes, a coolant flush, tires and 2 front shocks.
Way better than my 4matic benz
Actually had the shocks done at dealer. They had reman shocks in stock and gave em to me for $600 each, 3 hours labor

2005 xj8L 160,000miles (260,000 KM). Looks and runs great. Only non-functioning item is a bad reversing alarm sensor. Drive it 800 miles/week for work. Rarely use local Jag dealer as they have been deemed worthless. Do as much work as possible by self. Use independent shops for most other work and use worthless dealer as last resort.

2004 Vanden Plas with 157,000 miles. I bought it 6 months ago with 144,000 and at that time was not aware of any major work that had been done to it, so probably still original shocks and maybe even exhaust. I've replaced water pump, thermostat assembly, windshield washer pump, and rims (the original chrome rims were having some problems with holding air due to corrosion). I'm hoping to get at least 250,000 miles, but then I'm a very gentle driver who does his own maintenance.

High Mileage
My 1999 XJ8 just rolled over 212,000 KM. Just logged on to check on a trouble code/s when I saw this post. Its now going into Fail Safe Mode with multiple error codes, including Traction Control Fail, Transmission Fault and others. Why does the wife look at me cross when HER car breaks down??

High Mileage
My XJL, 2010 just turned 3 years old on June 29. Has 80,000 miles and had one set of brakes replaced. The dealership says they aren't used to seeing these cars with that may miles on them. They are talking to me about a trade in but this one isn't even paid for yet. Gets about 24 MPG on the highway which is not bad

2006 Vanden Plas XJ
I purchased mine 4 years ago. It had 52,000 miles on it. I will say we love the car. I have 122,000 on the car now. Here are the issues I've had since owning the car.
1. Change tires.
2. Replace Brakes
3. Change Oil and Filter.
4. Changed plugs at 100,000 (easy to do)
Now that's pretty much it. Oh I forgot about three weeks ago I did have to replace the thermostat housing. I did it myself. While at it I removed the throttle Body, cleaned. The gas mileage has increase from 25 to 28-29.5 highest on last trip.
I do have a small problem now which I will trouble shot in the next few days. I'm replacing the 7 year old batter first. The windows will not roll down with engine operational only in accessory position. Motor must be turned off.
The car has been a true pleasure to drive
I have a 2004 S model with 4.2 V* and truly love this car also.

I been scanning through this thread and I'm a little surprised at the amazement a lot of people seem to be showing at what they evidently consider to be high mileage!
I've recently come back to Jaguar after a number of years of mostly Volvos, predominantly V70s and S60s. The last one (an S60 T5) which I still have, is barely run in with only 116000 miles on the clock. The V70 T5 I had before it, had 210000 miles when I sold it to a local landscape gardener. It's still going strong and four years down the line, now has 250000 miles on the clock.
In essence, if my XJ isn't capable of somewhere near to 200000 miles, I will be very disappointed and probably return to Volvo!

Interesting point there Gmad,
Gee how much difference in technology is there between a new car and a 20-30 year old car? And then there are the real classics, I am not so sure about what defines a true classic these days but I am happy with my view! However,
The Jaguar ethos must have been unimaginarily strained when the Euro Emissions Stazi came about! Yoiks!
But what is the major difference now, I'd love {all} the manufacturerers to tell?
And how much is a "Modern" car restrained by emissions technology now?
Sorry to divert from the post, allow my apologies, please? I am sure there are a lot more high mileage Jaguars than this, keep 'em comin please?
