Default Who has used EBC reds? What is this clip?

Hey guys,
Just took the new pads out of the box to match up to the old set. The fronts have a weird clip thing on the back of one? Should I brake this off? Did Parts geeks send me the wrong brakes? Thanks!

Sorry to bother your threads tonight, but those EBC pads aren't even close to the old ones!

Doesn't look like you will have the brakes back on tonight.

I got mine at AutoIdiotZone when I did mine. I had to make 2 trips back before ending up with the top of the line, bad-a$$ brakes that they upgraded me to for screwing up the initial order. For some reason, the ones I ended up with, even though they were the right brakes, weren't an option when I first asked for pads.

Was this some new type of "bait and switch", where THEY get stung???

Default Review 2004 XJ VDP Brake Job with part numbers that work

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...service-61323/

This procedure really works. Please read it fully. I purchased ceramic brake pads locally at a import car parts store. Since brakes seem to come up frequently, I again would ask a moderator to move this link to FAQ. Please be aware that the rear calipers require a retraction tool and also are the parking brake mechanism. Good luck. Ed

thats what it seemed like. I even got the lifetime warranty by the time I was finished. Who needs perfect rotors when you have free lifetime brake pads and the ability to change then yourself in 30 minutes?
