Some places sell rebuilt Bilstein air springs.
Do any of you know some rebuilder who would buy my busted Bilstein?

I'm trying to find this out so far as well. Arnott will not buy them back to rebuild for some reason, though they will for Mercedes. I'm probably about two weeks of patience away before adding them to the landfill which I hate doing.

Yes Arnott use to buy the old ones to rebuild but they have stopped. So I don't know of anyone else claiming to be able to do this unfortunately.
Maybe all the air struts are just too old by now and it's just not worth it anymore?

Dang. Yeah I think you're right. That and probably relatively low demand. Not helped by these fools doing coilover conversions!

Yes that's true but I did the coil conversion only after spending thousands on the old air system and never did get all the errors out of it.
It was pure frustration that caused me to spend another $1000+ to do the coil conversion.

I did NOT want to but the air system just kept failing. I mean I rebuilt the compressor, replaced several air springs with Arnott's but still had all kinds of weird suspension faults. One of my reoccurring nightmares are those stupid "plausibility" errors!!! If you have ever worked on an Jaguar air suspension using SDD you will know exactly what I am talking about.

I hear ya and was making a funny- I'm one of the converted as well for similar reasons. Again, I left the auxiliary components in place to give me the option to go back one day as I haven't totally ruled it out, but it's nice not having to worry an iota about it right now.

But alright, I'm tossing my cores into the dumpster tonight for trash pickup tomorrow and will try to not dwell on it. Sunk cost.

https://rebuildmastertech.com/we-buy-cores/ says that Rebuild Master Tech pays good money for cores, including air shocks.
I filled out their form, saying my busted air shock came from a 2004 Jaguar XJ8, and they replied, saying,

Unfortunately, at this moment, we are not purchasing any cores for this vehicle.

If we are in need of any in the near future, I will reach out to see if you still have them on hand.

We do appreciate the offer. Have a wonderful day!

https://www.arnottindustries.com/recycle-cores says they buy cores, but doesn't list Jaguar as as model they buy cores for.
Also, they say, "Arnott buys and recycles cores which include the shocks/struts and does not buy air springs alone."
You can contact them at 800-251-8993 or cores@arnottinc.com.

https://en.smatic.net/# also claims on their home page that they buy cores.
+359 988 83 09 85 office@smatic.net
However, I emailed them, and they replied, "You have to send yours/ We will refurbished".

More helpfully, they'll rebuild your old Jaguar air springs for 250 euros, with a 12-month warranty. See https://en.smatic.net/remanufacturin...ension-jaguar/
They're located in Sofia, Bulgaria, so the shipping will be expensive.

I found no other buyers of air spring cores using Google.

Arnott replied, "For the Jags we actually don’t do any rebuilds on those, we just make brand new aftermarket versions, so we don’t buy the cores."

smatic.net clarified that they do buy cores for some cars, but not for Jaguars.

I appreciate the confirmations and updates! Kinda sorta not really feel better about it. Mine are in the landfill as of yesterday.
